Are you a part of a small or medium-sized organization looking to submit to the recently opened Global Affairs Canada call for proposals? Join us for this free 90 minute bilingual webinar on the Gender Equality considerations your proposal should include.

SCIC and our sister councils through the Inter-Council Network (ICN), in partnership with Karen Craggs-Milne – a leading Canadian gender expert – are offering this bilingual webinar to support Canadian small and medium-sized organizations (SMOs) to respond to the Global Affairs Canada (GAC) recent Call for Preliminary Proposals for SMOs under the “Development Impact” window. The Call for Proposals closes December 21, 2017.

*In order to ensure that as many interested small and medium-sized organizations as possible are able to participate in this webinar, we ask that participants from the same organization register and call-in together as a group, rather than register individually, wherever possible.

What to expect:

In this 90-minute bilingual webinar Karen will present an overview of the various gender equality requirements in the new call for proposals to ensure a strengthened understanding of both what is expected, and how to ‘do business differently’. This will be followed by an opportunity for participants to ask questions through a written Q & A period.

Topics covered in the webinar will include:

  • Context: Including the Government of Canada’s new Feminist International Assistance Policy (FIAP), Canada’s ODA priorities, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs);
  • Understanding GAC’s new program typology: “Gender-targeted” vs “Gender integrated” (fully / partially) and what it means for program design
  • Gender equality in Results-based Management (RBM) tools – where and how gender equality is included across RBM tools
  • GAC’s 3 Gender Equality Objectives – Possible results statements and indicators
  • Gender based analysis – what, why and how

*In order to ensure that as many interested small and medium-sized organizations as possible are able to participate in this webinar, we ask that participants from the same organization call in together as a group on one line, rather than register individually, wherever possible.

How to prepare:

In advance of the webinar, we strongly encourage all participants to complete this free, two-hour online course “Gender-Based Analysis+ “ from Status of Women Canada as it provides a good foundation for the content that will be discussed.

Can’t attend? Or want to share the info with your colleagues?

This webinar will be recorded, and the recording will be shared through the Provincial and Regional Councils and the ICN following the session for those that were not able to participate, or that wish to review the materials again, and to share it with colleagues and partners as you prepare your preliminary proposals.
